I have a spray bottle with alcohol and water mixture. I add several drops of Bug Be Gone. Shake it up and spray around the baseboards and dog feeding area. It doesn’t kill the ants but it does mess up their scent trail. I’ll have to spray every night which is okay. It sure beats having the dog give me dirty looks when she finds ants in her food dish. She doesn’t like to share.
