This formula is “Alcohol-Free” and contains such re-moisturizers as Sunflower and Shea Butter, along with Succulents and Botanicals. Used to take the place of sanitizers that contain as much as 62% alcohol which equates to 124 proof. Alcohol hand sanitizers will dry out your hands leaving them cracked and red. The FDA is sending out warning letters to manufactures of hand sanitizers stating its illegal to put methanol (wood alcohol) in the formula and that it can hospitalize an individual. Things to know 1) I have incredibly sensitive and dry skin. 2) I used to work in healthcare and while alcohol based sanitizers are great against bacteria studies have shown they aren’t very effective against viruses (with the exception of flu).With that understanding, this stuff is awesome. It doesn’t have a bunch of fragrances and other garbage to cause those of us with sensitive skin misery.It is a nice mid weight moisturizing lotion as well as a sanitizer, so you can kill germs and moisturize all at the same time.It is benzalkonium chloride based which means it is effective against both bacteria and viruses including the viruses that cause most of the colds and stomach bugs that make us miserable.The only thing not so awesome is the price. But the ingredients are more expensive than the standard alcohol based sanitizer, so I can’t really fault them there. Stuff is worth every penny in my opinion.
